Chris is the founder of Renovate Church.

After serving for over 10 years of ministry at a flourishing church in the Inland Empire called VantagePoint Church, Chris felt a strong call to leave behind a stable, secure, career in ministry to start a brand new church in Long Beach. He and his wife Brianna have a passion for reaching broken people and helping them find hope that can only be found in Christ.

Chris' call to plant a church goes all the way back to 2014.

Renovate first started on Easter Sunday of 2020. After feeling a call to start a new church in 2014, our Pastor and his wife Brianna spent six years in prayer and waiting. Finally, in January 2020, they left a growing church in Eastvale, CA to step out in faith and start a new church in Long Beach. The plan was to launch in Fall of 2020 but in March a pandemic hit. When a lot of people were talking about slowing down, we felt like God was leading us to accelerate. We refused to be a church that stood on the sidelines during one of the most difficult times in history. Through this decision, God has been faithful and we have have seen Him move and do the impossible. We got our start by launching online Easter Sunday of 2020. By the end of 2020, we had attained a rental facility in Downtown Long Beach. A small loft on the corner of Long Beach Blvd and 3rd, right above Recreational Coffee. On March 21, 2021 we had our Grand Opening in DT and saw God move and lives forever changed. In September of 2021, about six months after having our doors open, we were gifted a piece of property by a church here in Lakewood, formally known as West Lakewood Baptist Church. The two churches became one and we have been here ever since. We have seen God’s faithfulness in the most uncertain of times and we cannot wait to see what He does next.
